AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Following Austin's first freeze of the season Monday morning, clouds increase Tuesday with rain to follow late this week.Morning low temperatures bottomed out at 31° in Austin -- our first freeze of the season about a week behind schedule -- and were even colder in rural valleys. After celebrating its 59th annual opening night Friday evening, the holiday display will be open to the public most days through Dec. 23.For those hoping to walk through a winter wonderland, here's what you need to know about how to get to and from the event, as well as event parking details and street closures.Pre-paid event parking onlineThose parking on-site are required to purchase their pass in advance of the festivities. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin-Travis County EMS, the Austin Fire Department and Travis County STAR Flight responded to a reported crash involving a motorcycle in northwest Austin Monday afternoon.ATCEMS shared on social media the crash was reported just before 4 p.m. in the 9000 block of FM 2222. Per the post, the crash involved a motorcycle and another vehicle.One patient was declared a trauma alert as a result. In a follow-up social media post, officials said STAR Flight took the patient to Dell Seton Medical Center with potentially serious injuries.ATCEMS added extensive delays are expected following the crash. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The 59th annual Austin Trail of Lights holiday display returned to Zilker Park Friday evening, with the yearly tradition open to visitors most days through Dec. 23. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The man arrested in connection to the shots fired incident outside of Temple Israel on December 7 is facing another firearms crime. Mufid Fawaz Alkhader, 28, of Schenectady, was charged with conspiracy to make a false statement during the purchase of a firearm. Alkhader reportedly obtained the firearm about a month ago by having a friend purchase it for him. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. -- Some residents in the City of Wildwood are up in arms over a new trash pick-up deal negotiated by city hall. They say their trash bills are higher and they're not getting as good a service. Many didn’t like the process of picking the new companies.Resident Kevin Dillard says there is a lot not to like about this deal: "If you look at the timeline for the process, it was bungled so badly. It’s like government by Barney Fife except Barney Fife is likeable.”When the process started, the only company to bid on the deal ran into problems. The city demanded that there be penalties in the contract that would require the company to pay up if they missed pickups for example.That could prove really expensive for the company.
