ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Tiger Woods was an 18-year-old senior in high school when he made his first cut in a professional event at a European Tour event in Thailand. That also was the first time he played with Bernhard Langer.Thirty years later, the ageless Langer is still going strong. Langer capped off his memorable, record-setting year when he teamed with his son, Jason, to produce a 13-under 59 in 30 mph wind for a two-shot victory over David Duval and his son.Langer tied the PNC Championship with his fifth title — three with Jason, two with older son Stefan — held by Raymond Floyd.Woods and 14-year-old son Charlie shot 61 in the scramble format to tie for fifth, a day that included one shot so audacious that Woods could only laugh. He missed the green on the nine hole at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club well to the left, and the son of the 15-time major champion chipped it in for birdie. It wasn’t just the chip-in — it was the stare, the sideways walk, the raised finger point, the ...Carr throws 3 TD passes as Saints top Giants 24-6 to remain tied atop NFC South

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Derek Carr quieted the boobirds in the Superdome and Saints defensive players were the ones making Italian-style hand gestures after a season-high seven sacks. Carr passed for three touchdowns and the Saints largely stifled — and battered — quarterback Tommy DeVito in a 24-6 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday.Saints defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon had three sacks and celebrated with the same pinched-finger gesture that Giants players had embraced in DeVito’s honor during a three-game winning streak that ended in New Orleans. “I’m from Philly,” Kpassagnon said. “We got a whole bunch of Italians out there. So, we’re used to Italian.”Meanwhile, Carr’s performance was a redemptive one for the first-year Saints QB, who was booed while struggling in recent home games. He connected on 23 of 28 passes for 218 yards without a turnover in one of his most efficient outings of his first season with New Orleans (7-7).And he did it without top receiver Chris ...Pelicans set franchise record with 22 3-pointers, roll past Wembanyama, Spurs 146-110

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — CJ McCollum scored 29 points, Brandon Ingram added 26 and the New Orleans Pelicans set a franchise record with 22 3-pointers in rolling past Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs 146-110 on Sunday.Wembanyama had 17 points and 13 rebounds in front of former San Antonio All-Star Tony Parker, his childhood idol in France and later mentor. Wembanyama’s eighth consecutive double-double surpassed the previous NBA record by a teenager of seven straight set by Dwight Howard in 2005.The Spurs unveiled a Hall of Fame designation on Parker’s retired jersey during a halftime ceremony. Parker was inducted in August along with San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich and former Spurs assistant Becky Hammon, along with Pau Gasol, Dwyane Wade and Dirk Nowitzki.Parker’s ceremony was the only time Spurs fans at the Frost Bank Center were able to have a sustained celebration Sunday.Wembanyama kept his right arm aloft after draining a 3-pointer that cut New Orleans’ advantage to 58-49 ...Strong winds, rain expected for DC area ahead of windy, chilly workweek
