Athletics fall 4-3, but split with Tampa Bay demonstrates how far they’ve come OAKLAND — With the Athletics taking a 4-3 loss Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays, it could be seen as a return to the natural order of things. The Athletics fell to 19-52, a couple of percentage points ahead of the Kansas City Royals for the worst record in baseball.
