The House approved HB 4, which would create a Class B misdemeanor for anyone to enter Texas illegally. House Democrats filed dozens of amendments to the bill. With 47 amendments filed, Republican House members pushed through a motion to cut off additional amendments to the bill.Rep. Cody Harris (R-Palestine) filed the motion. Rep. GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An investigation has been launched into a structure fire on Wednesday evening. Firefighters from the Gloversville and Johnstown Fire Departments responded to 21 Allen Street around 8 p.m. and found a fire in the first-floor apartment. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Gloversville crews were hampered by low water pressure at a hydrant in the front of the building. Johnstown crews laid down a hydrant line from E. Fulton Street to assist with the water supply.The fire was under control in 20 minutes. No one was home at the time of the incident. MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. - The City of Maryland Heights faces a lawsuit over an alleged lease violation related to the Sportport International youth soccer complex. At the center of the lawsuit is a quit claim deed that granted a public right-of-way through the Sportport property to St. Louis County. This came after lengthy discussions for new development around Sportport, and one stakeholder claims Maryland Heights violated lease terms through its actions. HSL Sports LLC, a Missouri limited liability company, filed a lawsuit against Maryland Heights and NorthPoint Development LLC earlier this week in St. Louis County Circuit Court. A spokesperson with the City of Maryland Heights tells FOX 2 that the city is consulting with attorneys "for further discussion on the matter," but declined additional comment. LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — Authorities say a man fatally shot at least 18 people at a restaurant and a bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine, on Wednesday night. A massive search for the suspect was underway. The suspect was identified as Robert Card, a trained firearms instructor. The shooting in the state’s second-largest city is the 36th mass killing in the United States this year, according to a database maintained by The Associated Press and USA Today in partnership with Northeastern University. At least one officer with the Alhambra Police Department shot and wounded a person Thursday morning.The shooting in the 600 block of South Fremont Avenue began as a commercial robbery, police told KTLA.However, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which took over the investigation after the shooting, said the shooting occurred at approximately 5:37 a.m. at the intersection of South Meridian and West Commonwealth avenues.The suspect, an adult male, was wounded by gunfire and transported to a hospital in "unknown condition," the Sheriff's Department said in a statement.The investigation led to the closure of nearby Emery Park School on Thursday.
