Broncos stock report: Marvin Mims, Jr. shows why he needs to play more than 16 snaps for Denver going forward Stock UpWR Marvin Mims, Jr.The rookie wide receiver had five touches on Sunday and three of them went for 60 (and a touchdown), 54 and 45. The first two came on deep passes from Russell Wilson and the third on a punt return. He’s the first Broncos player since the AFL/NFL merger with multiple 50-plus yard catches in a single game and the eighth NFL rookie with three or more plays of 45-plus yards in a game since 1998. Perhaps he’ll play more than 16 snaps in Week 3.Young edge rushersJonathon Cooper and Nik Bonitto combined for three sacks and three tackles for loss against Washington. Both showed promise during camp and in the preseason, but you never know exactly how it will translate. Bonitto is learning how to use his speed and bend against NFL tackles, but still has work to do in run support. Denver’s OLB group looks well positioned to absorb the loss of Frank Clark to injury and continue producing until Baron Browning returns.WR Brandon JohnsonYeah, any Hail Mary play is a litt...

Trump calls DeSantis abortion ban 'a terrible mistake,' sparking anger from some key Republicans Donald Trump is facing new blowback from anti-abortion activists for refusing to commit to national abortion restrictions and for calling Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' signing of a six-week ban on the procedure a “terrible mistake.”Speaking Sunday on NBC's “Meet the Press,” Trump repeatedly declined to say whether he would support a federal ban on abortion. He said he could “live with” the procedure being banned by individual states or nationwide through federal action, though he said "from a legal standpoint, I think it’s probably better” to be handled at the state level.Regarding the bill signed by DeSantis, which bans abortions before many women know they are pregnant, Trump said, “I think what he did is a terrible thing and a terrible mistake.” So far, the former president has dominated the 2024 field while at times spurning the anti-abortion groups that traditionally have huge influence in Republican primaries. But Trump’s direct attack on DeSantis, whom he’s long treated as his c...
