ST. LOUIS -- A lot of people were surprised to see the Northern Lights as far south as Missouri Sunday night, and they may be visible again Monday. Images of the aurora borealis have been shared from rural locations north of St. Louis. This pic was taken by Layne Knoche in Macoupin County, Illinois, Sunday night. NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center says that the geomagnetic storm that earth is experiencing is starting to wane. So, this is probably the last night you'll be able to see the lights this far south for some time. The forecast calls for clear skies in much of Missouri and Illinois tonight. You should not expect to see a light show in the sky if you're watching from Missouri. The best views will be in rural areas with no light pollution. Look to the north for a chance to see them. If you do manage to spot them, the lights may be very faint. Top story: Private messages reveal St. Louis warning siren issues A minor solar flare Friday sparked a geomagnetic storm watch thr...

Sera Hart-Smith and her partner Kyle Kiera Hart are packing their belongings to leave Missouri before Hart-Smith runs out of her supply of estrogen.Hart-Smith has been taking estrogen since she was 19, and the couple is afraid state leaders may take that access away and push her back into the depression that she felt before medically transitioning.“Once my body was functioning on estrogen instead of testosterone, I got so much better,” Hart-Smith said. “So the idea of that being taken away or having to go back into the pit that I lived in for the first 19 years is horrifying.”An emergency order by Attorney General Andrew Bailey, which is scheduled to go into effect Thursday, will stop new patients from receiving gender-affirming care unless they pass multiple screenings and have three years of documented gender dysphoria.Hart-Smith has begun her medication, so the order would allow her physician to continue the prescription. But the fact that Bailey could make the move unilaterally ...

Longtime CNN anchor Don Lemon is out at CNN. On Monday morning, Lemon took to Twitter to announce the news, which apparently blindsided him. "I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned," Lemon wrote in a post he tweeted. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network."Lemon was on the air Monday morning and it appeared that it was business as usual. "It is clear that there are some larger issues at play," his statement continued. "With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. Five albums into their career, Soulwax continues two thrill to this day.Meanwhile, the Dewaeles perform DJ sets as 2manydjs, and those sets are equally as exciting. This year’s two spots at Coachella didn’t represent their first time at the festival, but they were one of the best acts of the two weekends.
