Football season is here. More importantly, fantasy football is back in action. This is the time of year when fans become general managers. Friendships are tested. And a matchup between the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons will matter to someone in North Dakota. The Broncos don’t have players like Justin Jefferson, Patrick Mahomes or rookie Bijan Robinson, who some might consider drafting in the early rounds. But some players can be impactful. Here are five Broncos players to consider during the fantasy football season.Broncos’ defenseThis is obvious. Denver’s defense was solid in 2022, finishing 10th in DVOA, according to Football Outsiders, despite dealing with a handful of injuries. In 2023, they have everything in place to be a top-10 defense in the league once again. Pat Surtain II is one of the best cornerbacks in the league. Safety Justin Simmons has 16 interceptions in the last three seasons. Defensive end Zach Allen looked like a beast during training camp.Denver’s pass...Dodgers' historic August could be a sign of things to come

You don’t win a World Series in the Summer, but the Los Angeles Dodgers’ dominance in August has many fans believing that this team has what it takes to be World Series-bound. The Dodgers posted a 24-5 record in the month of August, the most wins in a month since the franchise moved to Los Angeles. But will a month-long hot streak in the Summer translate to a World Series Title in the fall? Based on the Dodgers’ recent past, fans have a right to be concerned. This is the fourth straight season that the Dodgers have won 20-plus games in August. It is also the fourth straight August where the Dodgers have a win percentage over .750. The Boys in Blue are just the second team in Major League Baseball history to post a .750+ winning percentage in the same month four years in a row. The last team to accomplish that feat: the Chicago White Stockings (now known as the Chicago Cubs), in June from 1878-1881. Adding up the Dodgers’ August win totals from 2020-2023, they h...Arrest made in slaying at Brea apartment complex

A “parental rights” group whose critics say promotes anti-LGBTQ messaging apologized late Thursday night to San Jose councilmember Bien Doan for erroneously using the elected official’s photo on a flyer for an upcoming event hosted by the organization.“Our schools have fallen prey to a dangerous agenda pushed by politically driven educators seeking to indoctrinate our children at the expense of your family’s values and beliefs!” the flyer from Informed Parents of Silicon Valley reads. It also includes three books from LGBTQ authors, warning parents, “Did you know these books are available to children as young as five?”In a statement issued early Friday morning, Doan says he never gave permission to the organization to use his photo and was never informed of the agenda of the meeting, which was to take place at Seven Trees Community Center at 5:30 p.m. A date was not attached to the flyer.“A flyer has been circulating the web inco...It seems like everyone has Covid-19. Virus levels in the US have been on the rise for weeks, but it’s hard to know exactly how widely it’s spreading.Federal data suggests that the current increases have stayed far below earlier peaks and notable surges.
