A New Hampshire woman ran more than a thousand miles last year! When her treadmill broke she says she had trouble getting it replaced. So she ran right to Solve It 7. Brandon Gunnoe has the story. Kathy Kurdzo ties up her sneakers and pounds the pavement whenever she can.  “It’s cathartic for me. I ran 1260 miles last year,” Kathy said. The New Hampshire woman even runs marathons. But Kathy wanted to be able to run indoors too. So she paid $4000 for this high-tech treadmill. She even went the extra mile and bought an extended warranty.   “It’s such a big investment,” Kathy said. But after a while, the treadmill didn’t run right.“It was bouncier than normal. It just didn’t feel right,” Kathy said. Kathy says she checked her treadmill and saw these cracks on each side of the machine.“I couldn’t believe it. I looked at my warranty, and I saw th...

After watching from afar as Team Japan won the World Baseball Classic, Chicago Cubs RF Seiya Suzuki is focused on rehab

Seiya Suzuki needed time to grasp the reality nearly four weeks ago that his left oblique strain would prevent him from playing in the World Baseball Classic. It didn’t stop him from tuning in to the tournament and following Team Japan’s journey to Tuesday’s championship title with its 3-2 win over Team USA. His teammates hung Suzuki’s No. 51 jersey in their dugout and brought it onto the field during the title celebration and awards ceremony. The gesture didn’t go unnoticed by Suzuki.“Even though I wasn’t on the team and I wasn’t able to do much for the team, how they did that for me holding up my uniform, not just in that situation but every game they had my uniform in the dugout, it meant a lot for me,” Suzuki said Wednesday through interpreter Toy Matsushita. “Just seeing everyone grind out there … they were one of the motivators to keep on going and keeping my head up throughout the whole process.”Suzuki, he...

Chicago Bulls defense has flown under the radar — but now it’s the star of the show as they chase the play-in tournament

The Chicago Bulls defense has flown under the radar since the start of the season. It was easily obscured by the results. The Bulls kept coughing up losses and choking in close games, struggling to string together more than two wins. And regardless of accuracy, a team’s defensive reputation often can find itself defined more by gut feeling than hard statistics, especially as losses pile up.Rare blowouts — particularly when they allowed 150 points in a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in December — stood out sharper than grind-it-out games dominated by consistent rotations. The Bulls gained the reputation of hemorrhaging offensive boards despite being a top-five defensive rebounding team. And the shadow of a sub-500 record dimmed any shine of the Bulls defensive rating, which is fifth-best this season and the best in the NBAsince the All-Star break.“When things go wrong as far as wins and losses, people tend to look at offensive rating and the lack of 3s,̶...
