Driver killed in Andover head-on crash ID’d A driver killed after crashing his SUV head on into a pickup truck last week in Andover has been identified as a Brooklyn Park man.The wreck happened near the intersection of Round Lake Boulevard Northwest and 174th Avenue Northwest just after 3 p.m. Wednesday. The driver who died was 40-year-old Jim Fong Xiong, the Anoka County sheriff’s office said Monday.Xiong was headed south on Round Lake Boulevard in his sport utility vehicle when he crossed into the northbound lane and struck a pickup truck driven by a 40-year-old man from Andover, the sheriff’s office said.Xiong later was pronounced dead at a local hospital. FEMA funding to clean up flood mess ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- July's extreme flooding left one dead and parts of the state in need of major reconstruction. The Federal Emergency Management Agency will use a program known as “public assistance” to provide New York with disaster relief. Public Assistance is a reimbursement program that gives federal dollars to communities to recover from disasters. The following counties will be using the program to help with debris removal, repairs to buildings, infrastructure and more: Clinton, Dutchess, Essex, Hamilton, Ontario, Orange, Putnam and Rockland. Troy man arrested for weapon, theft charges TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy man has been arrested following an investigation into a stolen vehicle, according to police. (News10)-A breached beaver dam resulted in rushing water being released from a pond, washing out a Rensselaer County roadway and damaging one home in the rural community of Stephentown, New York. The Stephentown fire chief tells News10 that they received a call for service around 6am Monday morning regarding severe flooding on Garfield Road. “It’s a lot of water to come off the top of the hill, and across the road here,” said Dave Anthony, Highway Superintendent for Rensselaer County. Woman, man, and child shot in south St. Louis family dispute ST. LOUIS -- A woman, man, and a child were shot Monday afternoon near the intersection of Keokuk and Nebraska in south St. Louis. Police say all three victims have gunshot wounds to their legs.Gunfire erupted in the middle of the street Monday. Children from different families were were fighting. The father of one of the kids involved in the fight was taken into custody. People living in the area say kids were using weapons in the fight. California man sentenced for mailing meth to southern Illinois EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - A California man attempted to ship methamphetamine across the country to the Metro East region by hiding the drugs in children's toys.Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois said Jewelion Yarbrough, 34, pleaded guilty to three counts of distribution of methamphetamine. According to court documents, informants working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives identified Yarbrough in July 2019 as a meth dealer.Agents contacted Yarbrough on social media and arranged three separate purchases of the drug. Yarbrough admitted sending a combined total of more than 100 grams of methamphetamine in three shipments. LOUIS - A convicted felon was indicted in federal court last week for allegedly robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint in a popular St. Louis neighborhood.Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said Antione Shockley, 25, and his girlfriend placed a false order with a local Domino's on April 13, and provided a delivery address of a vacant home in the Central West End.When the driver arrived at the home, prosecutors claim Shockley pointed a gun at the victim and stole two pizzas, hot wings, and the insulated bag the driver had been carrying. Driver who forced CSP trooper to jump to safety suspected of being drunk Colorado State Patrol leadership is sounding the alarm after a trooper was injured by a suspected drunk driver Saturday morning — the 12th time this year a driver has struck a patrol car on the side of the road.“Lives are at risk,” State Patrol Chief Col. Matthew Packard said during a Monday afternoon press conference.The trooper, Kevin Bagley, fell nearly 30 feet down an embankment after leaping out of the way when the driver crashed into his patrol car Saturday morning near Interstate 270 in Adams County.
