One person is facing criminal charges in connection with a shooting inside a nightclub in Mattapan that left two people hospitalized, police said.Officers responding to a reported shooting in the area of 477 River St. around 12:46 a.m. Monday found a person suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound outside Macumba night club, according to Boston police. A second victim self-applied to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to the Boston Police Department, while authorities were responding, a witness approached an officer and described a suspect that ran from the area with a firearm.Police then went on to approach a group of individuals who immediately attempted to flee the scene, leading to a foot pursuit with one of the suspects dropping a handgun in the process.Officers were able to arrest at least one of the fleeing suspects, recovering another handgun from their waistband.The individual, Regan Feliz, 29, of Jamaica Plain, has since been charged ...44 injured, thousands left without power as Typhoon Haikui hits Taiwan

Taipei, Taiwan (CNN) — At least 44 people were injured and tens of thousands of homes were left without power as Typhoon Haikui made its way across Taiwan, authorities said.The storm made landfall along the southeastern coastal township of Donghe at about 3:40 p.m. local time, Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau said. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu responded Monday to a recent proposal from members of the Boston City Council aimed at addressing the crisis in Boston’s Mass and Cass area. In a letter Friday, four city councilors called on the city’s Public Health Commission to declare an emergency in the area near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard. A dog who had been missing for weeks in the South Shore area is recovering after being found in a boggy area, according to a non-profit.Missing Dogs Massachusetts said “Henry,” a pet dog from Duxbury, only had a few scratches on him after he was found Monday morning, following over two weeks without a sighting.On their Facebook page, the group said the rescue came after barking had been heard in a nearby neighborhood over the past two days. It later led to a resident going out and finding the dog in a nearby, boggy area.“This morning a local homeowner, Kevin, was able to safely retrieve Henry from a wet boggy area,” the group said. “Many many thanks to Kevin and Nancy and Andy and Ylana for alerting MDM of the barking. Kevin and Nancy had worked with MDM in the past with help trapping their dog.
