Editor’s Note: This blog was written by 7Weather intern Tyler Hughes.A dry start to August came to an end today, and just as today’s showers are clearing out, another round of storms is heading our way for tomorrow morning. A warm front lifting into our region will bring a warmer, more humid airmass with it, the fuel for tomorrow morning’s storm chances. It also means tomorrow will be significantly muggier than it has been this past weekend. The best chance for some strong-to-severe storms will be in the early morning through the morning commute. Here’s one model’s depiction of what this could look like at around 7.The biggest threat with these storms is gusty winds and heavy rain, bringing flooding potential with it. There’s also a fair amount of “spin” in the atmosphere tomorrow morning, so we can’t rule out a chance of a tornado or two. Overall, if you get a work-from-home day, tomorrow would be a good morning commute to avoid....Russian and Chinese warship maneuvers near Alaska prompted U.S. Navy response

Nearly a dozen Chinese and Russian military vessels moved close enough to Alaska sometime last week that the Biden Administration was forced to send four U.S. warships into the region in response, according to the state’s two U.S. Senators. In a joint statement issued by U.S. Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan, the Republicans say they received “detailed classified briefings” on the matter from U.S. military personnel.“We have been in close contact with leadership from Alaska Command for several days now,” Murkowski said Saturday. The foreign ships, apparently involved in joint military maneuvers, were spotted near U.S. territorial waters around the Aleutian Islands, hundreds of miles off the state’s south-west mainland coast. The U.S. Navy dispatched four destroyer class ships to the island chain in response, according to Sullivan.“The incursion by 11 Chinese and Russian warships operating together – off the coast of Alaska – is yet another reminder that we have entered a ...Patriots extra points: Matthew Judon’s contract details; good news for offense

“It’s time to go,” Trevor Story said on Monday afternoon. After a long recovery from UCL surgery, the veteran infielder will be activated on Tuesday, and finally begin his journey as Boston’s everyday shortstop.Story, who signed a 6-year, $140 million contract with the Red Sox in March 2022, has been rehabbing from internal brace surgery back in early in January. The procedure’s recovery timetable is about half that of Tommy John, but still cost the 30-year-old infielder more than two-thirds of the season. While Story originally targeted last Friday as his return date, Alex Cora announced last week that the infielder wanted to use more of his allotted rehab assignment, which doesn’t expire until Wednesday. Given his long recovery and the fact that he spent most of 2022 at second base, it’s no wonder Story wanted to utilize that time to get comfortable at his natural position before rejoining the team.“Just kind of a mini spring training,...Massachusetts could see more severe storms: ‘Brief tornado or waterspout’ possible

When it closed for the day, he would move across the street to Jack-in-the-Box.That was his daily routine for almost two years. He was just 10 years old and homeless.“I just sat there doing nothing, pretty much my shelter,” Nazario told FOX 5.It’s a routine that caught the attention of employees at the coffeeshop, who expressed their concern to Escondido police Officer John Larson. Tropical Storm Eugene may bring isolated storms to San Diego County “They started noticing a young boy that would hang out at the store all day,” Larson said. “They’d provide him some food, some drinks, and then as they closed down, they noticed he'd go across the street to Jack-in-the-Box.”One day in 2018, Larson and Nazario crossed paths for a conversation at the Jack-in-the-Box that the teen says changed his life. It was then that Larson learned about the boy’s situation.“I just wanted to make sure h...Judges halt a Biden rule offering student debt relief for those alleging colleges misled them

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A federal appeals court on Monday halted a rule from President Joe Biden’s administration that could make it easier to obtain student loan debt relief for borrowers who say they were victims of misleading information about the quality of education they would receive. At issue is a rule broadening existing policy ending the debt of students who borrowed money to attend colleges and universities that are determined to have misled them on matters such as whether their courses would actually prepare them for employment in their field or the likely salary they would earn upon obtaining a degree. Career Colleges and Schools of Texas, an association of for-profit higher learning institutions, filed a lawsuit against the rule in February. Among its complaints was that the rules are so broad that they cover even unintentional actions by a college. They also said the rule unconstitutionally gives an executive branch agency, the Department of Education, what amounts to ...Prince Harry and wife Meghan purchase screen rights to Canadian author’s book
