Two teenagers were sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to their roles in a 2021 shooting outside Hinkley High School in Aurora.Dalen Brewer, 18, and Larry Jefferson, 17, were sentenced in Arapahoe County on second-degree murder charges to seven years in the Youthful Offenders System.On Nov. 19, 2021, just before noon, surveillance cameras showed a white truck pulling into the school parking lot and stopping near another vehicle. Several people got out of both cars and began arguing, and shots were fired in the parking lot. Several students ran from the scene. Grass fires in Colorado Springs near Interstate 25 briefly caused the southbound lanes of the interstate to be reduced to one lane while firefighters contained the fire.The fire was first reported at 3:46 p.m. near Circle Drive and the interstate.The Colorado Springs Police Department said the interstate was down to one lane between Martin Luther King Jr. Bypass and Circle Drive. After two teachers died at Eaglecrest High School, one of whom died of symptoms associated with bacterial meningitis, Arapahoe County health officials are beginning contact tracing efforts to mitigate any public risk of infection.In a letter sent to parents on Monday, the Cherry Creek School District identified the teacher who was suspected of having bacterial meningitis as ILC teacher Maddie Schmidt. (KRON) -- A Benicia man was arrested Tuesday after a series of stalking incidents, the San Rafael Police Department announced in a press release. After serving a search warrant, police arrested Jason Colby Carpenter, 46, when he was seen leaving his Benicia home. Berkeley police arrest man for sexual assault Detectives also found firearms and ammunition that were believed to be tied to one of Carpenter's threats toward his victim. Carpenter had been stalking a female victim, who he dated briefly, in San Rafael since early February, the release said.Police said threatening stalking behavior escalated with each incident. Carpenter would go to the unidentified victim's home and leave unwanted letters and items at her front door. (AP) — NFL prospect and former Louisiana wide receiver Michael Jefferson was involved in a fatal car accident in Mobile County.Jefferson’s agent, Jon Perzley, told ESPN that the player suffered injuries in the accident Sunday evening that required multiple operations.
