Troy Police seize illegal firearm in robbery case

LANSINGBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two individuals were arrested following a robbery in Lansingburgh on Tuesday afternoon. Police say the victim, a 57-year-old male from Troy, had prescription pills stolen from him. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Two suspects were located nearby and taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit. One of the suspects was found to have a loaded, illegal, privately made firearm. Charges include:First-degree robberySecond-degree robberyCriminal possession of stolen property in the fifth-degreeCriminal possession of a weapon in the second degreeCriminal use of a firearm in the first degreeThe 16-year-old suspect was processed as a juvenile. MENANDS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 38-year-old male victim sustained a stab wound to the hand on Monday night. The victim was treated at the Albany Memorial Hospital. The intensive courses fit an entire semester of material into an accelerated term. LOUIS - The St. Louis Board of Education has filed a lawsuit in an effort to stop a newly proposed charter school from opening.The lawsuit contends wrongdoing not only on behalf of organizers behind the charter school, but also of the Missouri State Charter School Commission and Missouri State Board of Education.An Indianapolis-based group has been pushing for a charter high school known as "Believe STL Academy" in the City of St. Louis. Residents of an off-campus student apartment building serving Denver’s Auraria Campus are being told to sign up to shower in a nearby hotel because their building has been without hot water for nearly two months.The boiler system at the Auraria Student Lofts, located at 1051 14th St. across from the Denver Performing Arts Complex, malfunctioned in mid-September, leaving student tenants without access to consistent hot water since then, according to Paula Platt, senior vice president of Nelson Partners Student Housing, which manages the property.The parts to fix the boiler are custom and must be manufactured, Platt said.
